Regent Appoints New CEO
Senior Vice President of Sales to
take the helm
Frederick,
Maryland, November 6, 2009 - Regent Education, the leading provider of financial
aid management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions for higher education
institutions, today announced the appointment of Randy Jones as the
company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr. Jones, who brings a
proven track record with two decades of experience in the enterprise
application and software business to this role, will lead Regent’s growth strategy.
He succeeds Founder and CEO Michael Ratti, who will serve in a new role to
help the company focus on strategic partnerships and corporate
development.
Before joining Regent in 2008, Mr.
Jones spent two years as the Executive Vice President of Sales for

company. While there, he reconstructed the sales force, and
built a team that produced consistent quarter over quarter
growth. Additionally, he worked with the Board of Directors and CEO
to successfully position the company for the next phase in its lifecycle,
successfully selling Managed Objects to Novell in 2008. Prior to
Managed Objects, Mr. Jones spent 8 years at OPNET Technologies,
Inc. (OPNT), an entrepreneurial high tech software and consulting services
company.
“Regent is a great company with an
excellent track record of delivering ground breaking financial aid
solutions that allow institutions to stand out from their competitors and
provide their students with a positive financial aid experience,”
said Randy Jones. “In my new role, I look forward to working
with our management team to further propel Regent’s solutions,
capitalize on the company’s growth opportunities, and to continue to
deliver great service to our customers.”
Mr. Jones has served as Regent’s
Senior Vice President of Sales since 2008, guiding the strategic direction
and execution of Regent's sales team across direct and reseller
channels. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in
Regent’s success and guiding product innovation.
“Randy has demonstrated clear leadership
at the company since he joined, helping to lead the Regent team and
provide strategic vision for the company,” said Michael Ratti,
Founder. “I am extremely excited he has accepted stepping into
this role. His keen insight and deep management experience will drive
even greater value for Regent’s customers.”
