Leonard Gude Receives Distinguished Service Award
Frederick, MD, June 7, 2007 – Regent

solutions for higher education institutions, announced today that Leonard
Gude, Regent’s Vice President of Financial Aid Solutions, was
presented with a Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Association
of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA) during the FASFAA Spring
Conference.
“FASFAA’s Distinguished Service Award
is bestowed on a FASFAA member who has made a significant contribution to
the financial aid community at the national, regional, and/or state
level,” said Tom Judge, former President of FASFAA. “We are
proud to present this award to such a deserving candidate in Leonard, who
has provided leadership and innovation throughout the financial aid
community.”
Leonard has been a very active member of the
Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA) for
nearly 30 years, holding both elected and appointed offices. Previously,
Leonard served as President of FASFAA from 2002-2003. Other positions
Leonard has held over the years include: Treasurer, Fiscal Concerns
Committee Chair, Executive Board Member at Large, State Relations
Committee Chair, Association Liaison, Research Committee Chair and Program
Conference Committee Chair. He also served for two years as Chair of the
Florida Council of Student Financial Aid Advisors (an advisory council to
the State of Florida Legislature).

over 28 years of experience as a financial aid practitioner, Leonard is
considered one of the country’s leading experts and innovators in
student financial aid. He has been very active in other financial aid
organizations, including the National Association for Student Financial
Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and the Southern Association for Student
Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA). Leonard represented NASFAA on the
PESC Board of Directors, served on the NASFAA Technology Initiatives
Committee, and served NASFAA as a Standards of Excellence reviewer. Before
joining Regent, Leonard served as Director of Financial Aid at the
University of South Florida for 10 years. Leonard is responsible for
ensuring the real-time reflection of the Higher Education market in
