Vice President of Financial Aid Compliance
As Vice President of Financial Aid Compliance, Sharon Clough is responsible for ensuring Regent's products comply with applicable federal statutes and regulations. She also brings more than thirty years of experience with both compliance and operational aspects of financial aid management to support school financial aid policy and process review for Regent implementations. She has a deep understanding of the financial aid environment, and of how federal financial aid requirements are operationalized at all types of higher education institutions with all types of financial aid structures.
Before joining Regent, Sharon was the Executive Director of Financial Aid and Compliance at Laureate Higher Education, with responsibility for financial aid operations at the U.S. ground-based colleges and universities. Prior to Laureate Higher Education, Sharon was responsible for financial aid compliance and training support as Kaplan Higher Education’s Financial Aid Training & Institutional Support Manager.
Sharon has managed smooth conversions from third party servicers to in-house processing, resulting in significantly more efficient delivery of financial aid to students at reduced cost to the institutions. She has overseen successful software and product conversions, implemented effective production and accountability systems, and ensured regulatory compliance through both training and oversight programs. She has served on advisory groups for federal loan guarantors, and has presented at national conferences.

Sharon has an MS in Managerial Leadership from National-Louis University and a BA in History from the University of Maryland. She has completed 16 of the NASFAA Professional Credentials.
