Lori Shaffer

As Senior Vice President for Strategy and Corporate Development, Lori Shaffer is responsible for charting the future direction of Regent's sales and product development efforts, with particular emphasis on the For-Profit/Non-Term market segments. Her deep experience in the For-Profit Education sector makes her uniquely qualified to serve on the executive team.

Before joining Regent in 2010, Lori was Vice President of Finance at Education Management Corporation (EDMC), one of the largest private post-secondary career-focused education providers in North America. There, she led several initiatives, including the design and development of a scalable online admissions and financial planning application process and web-based CRM tools. She was also responsible for developing a $100M alternative private student loan product and managing the lender, originator and servicer relationships.

Prior EDMC, Lori held key positions with College Loan Corporation (CLC) in strategic operations as well as product development, where she implemented a custom loan origination system and other web-based tools for schools. She served for almost eight years as Director of Financial Aid System Development and Lender Relations at Apollo Group/University of Phoenix, one of the world’s largest for-profit, private education providers. At Apollo Group, Lori was responsible for establishing the initial online presence for the financial aid department and developing an integrated, online web application and other scalable paperless processes.

Lori has served on various industry committees, including Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC)’s Electronic Standards Committee, and several advisory boards for various student loan guarantors, and ELM Resources. She has been a regular presenter at both regional and national events.

Lori holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University.
